Think Local, Act Global...

I will conform to you my fellow readers (population: 3) and think locally. 2nd from the right is Lindsay Clubine, a Mahattan Beach gal who has hosts my favorite show Get Out! on HD Net. She is also a suitcase girl on Deal or No Deal . I must've gottten photoshopped out of this picture somehow. Funny how that always happens...

Cal is 25 point favorites at home against Colorado State. This line begs you to take the under, which I why I will not and will stay away from this bet all together. We should be coming away from this game with a pretty easy vic though.

Purdue +1.5 over Notre Dame. Purdue will win by 2 scores. Easy take.

Penn State -13.5 vs. Illinois. Penn State beat Oregon State by 28, Oregon State beat USC by 6. multiply that by pie 3.14 and carry the numerals, and you have PSU winning by 423 points. Wait, that's not right, But they will cover.

I'm trying to find another game I like, but I can't stop staring at the above picture. That's it, I'm going to the gym and doing 1000 crunches, quitting my job to be an "actor/artist" and changing my name to Javier. Maybe then these girls will not send the drinks back that I buy them with my food stamps.

Enjoy your weekend,

Brett

Taco Tuesday!!!!

Question of the day: Who started the idea of selling tacos on Tuesdays for half price? Answer: I have no idea, but it seems every restaurant in between the Atlantic and Pacific does a taco tuesday special.

For you Mad Men fans out there, this is the lovely Christina Hendricks. You all know how I love red-heads, I'm sure after seeing this pic you will love them as much as I.

I couldn't get my weekend sports pics in last week, but will make sure that it happens this Thursday.
Colts are in serious trouble. They haven't played a team with a winning record, yet they are only 1-2. Es no bueno. Cal plays Colorado St. this weekend, and should improve their record after the debacle in Maryland.

That's all for now.

Who made Cal's schedule???

Hate to say I told you so, but I was 3 for 3 on my pics this weekend. This is my very first crush, Nicole Eggert from "Charles in Charge." Boy I loved/love her.

As I stated earlier, I knew Cal would have trouble against Maryland. Who schedules a 12:00 est (9:00 am pst) game on the east coast against an ACC team? That is absurd. Riley looked human and Jahvid "The Beast" Best got absolutely rocked. Hopefully they can rebound soon.

Heading out to Reno for a couple days, but will try to get you a quick preview/ pics of UFC fight Night on Wednesday. Nate Diaz, who won his last fight via this beautiful triangle choke, will have a big test on his hands.

Stay Svelt.

Weekend predictions....

Happy friday all. The big game this weekend is THE OSU vs. USC. This is USC Alum Lindsay Soto. She thinks they will win... and whatever she says I agree with b/c I love her soul... so I'm picking USC -10.5.

THE Cal Bears are traveling across the country to take on the Turtles of Maryland @ 9am pst. Early start makes me nervous. If they don't win I'm burning my Cal shirt. -14.5 is too large to cover after a 6 hour flight the wrong way. Still, my man Jahvid "Don't call me Travis" Best should run cirlces around these student-athletes and take home the W.

Colts... sucked last week. Zero O-line, and Zero D-line. Pretty good combo I'd say. Like stated earlier, the O line needs serious help if we are going to run the ball. and give Peyton some time to throw. Colts -2??? lot of nervous.

Please let me know of other things you'd like to hear about. Might head up to the Colosseum
to tailgate for the USC game on Sat, so keep me posted.

Has Eli officially trumped Peyton in coolness????

You tell me...

Another Cal Bear signs with the Colts!!!

Well my friends, looks like the Colts have picked up another Cal Bear, Justin Forsett. Along with the daper Daymeion Hughes (Forsett, scrub, Hughes pictured), and Matt Giordano, it looks like the horse are creating a pipeline to Berkley. Hopefully he can return kicks a la Maurice Jones-Drew.

Channel your inner Lanceness

To all my cycling and non-cycling friends (99.9% of you are the latter), the rumors are true, Lance Armstrong has confirmed he will race in 2009!!!!! This is great for so many reasons, but I'll touch on a few:

1) The average american will once again tune back into the most beautiful sport in the world. That's right, cycling is more beautiful than soccer(futbol). It desparately needs a big name again.

2) He is not taking any salary or bonuses. Last time I did that I was unemployed. And despite what my last boss said, I'm not unhireable.

2) I can quit hearing about boring pro basketball in May and June. Let's shorten the season already.

3) He's always dating some honey who is way out of my league, so maybe I can start dating girls way out of my league.

4) If at 37 he can start competing again, I can get off my skinny-fat ars and try to work off the massive love handles that have accumulated while shoving mexican food down my throat 5 times a week.

Obviously the naysayers (Is this an actual word?) will say that if he doesn't win, it will prove that he was doping. That's just a bunch of new age hooey. He will inspire many other people to do the same and to prove that age is just a number.

I have met him one time at his bar in Austin. Couldn't have been a nicer guy. I'll be rooting for him all the way.

Do I have a man crush on him? You bet your ass I do. Go Lance.

Weekend Sports Action...

Happy Friday Ladies and Gents. Big sports weekend coming up here. NFL opening week, College football, and UFC 88.

Pictured is San Luis Obispo's own, Chuck Liddel, who will headline Sat night's fight. While Rashad Evans is undefeated, Chuck is his first big test. I'm predicting a big Chuck win, followed by him picking up my "ex" (who looks strikingly similar to the girl pictured) in a Hotlanta nightclub. Damn she was hot. He not only "puts people to sleep" with his knockout power, he has women who love him...And I'm a desk jockey with boo boo breath. Boy I suck.

But I digress. The Cal Bears, who need to go back to the throwback uni's, are playing the Washington State Cougars (c'mon cougar, pull up cougar, COUGAR!!!) up in Pullman, WA. If someone steals Lonestar's uniform and doesn't let him play, we should be ok. K. Riley needs to have a good game to build his confidence for the tougher Pac-10 opponents.

USC? they'll win. No need to even mention them.

My Colts baby!!!!! As mentioned in a previous post, Chicago Bear fans are dumb. That said, this game should be interesting b/c Peyyyyyyyyyton hasn't played one preseason snap and those snaps will be coming from a rookie. The Colts O-line only has two returning starters from last year (Ugoh and Diem) b/c of injuries to Lilja and Saturday. Could be very interesting. Have to say I'm nervous.

Enjoy your weekend and be sure to maximimze you ray intake as summer is winding down.

Be good.

I love Sarah Palin

Wow wow wow wow!!!! This is what politics needs baby!!!! I don't care if you are left, right, conservative, democrat. That was one great speech. She absolutely crushed it. I can't wait to see the response tomorrow.

Great orator. Any thoughts?

God Bless America

LA Dodgers= most BLAH team ever?

Just a thought from watching Dodger baseball over the years... has there ever been a team where they are always tetering around .500, yet the fan base/management/ownership always seems to think they are that one special player away from a good team?

Actually, now that I think about it, the Chicago Bears are that team. Those are the most loyal/kool aid drinking fans ever. They had a fluke and made the Super Bowl when the NFC absolutely was terrible.

Thoughts?

Guess who's back???

Hello my little plebians. This is the start of something special...no?

I'll chime in with more later. Uncle Rico out
